External hard drive not being recogised

Hi All!

Hoping someone can help me with a problem. I recently bought a new Seagate 1.5TB hard-drive and a StoreJet Ultra35 hdd case and everything was working fine until a couple of weeks ago when I plugged it in, Windows couldn't find it! Nothing shows up in My Computer or Disk Management, yet it shows up in the Device Manager and says it's working properly. Reformatting the drive is unfortunately not an option as I have data on there that cannot be replaced.

Can anyone give me any ideas why Windows suddenly won't recognise the drive?

Thank-you!!!

Re: External hard drive not being recogised

Hola. Have you tried connecting your drive to your computer directly? i.e. removing it from the hard drive enclosure and hooking it up via SATA/IDE, whichever standard it supports?
