external hd not recognized

hi ppl well im having trouble with my external hard drive, a 1tb wd caviar, got it like half year ago and been working fine til 2 days back, first i turned it on in the morning and i could access normaly exept for 2 or 3 folders, pc sayed that the folder is damaged and i got woried, but i turned it off cause i had things to do.
in the afternoon turned it on again, da hd starts spinning and pc do the tilin! sound, but then the hd stops spinning (at least not fast) and then nothing happens

, went on drivers and printers and pc recognizes a "usb to ata/ataip bridge, but noting else, the hd doesnt appear in the pc, sooo does anyone have idea of what is going on?

well i just got an rma from western digital
