[SOLVED] 1 TB Hard Drive Choices
Hi,
I am currently planning to add a 1TB HDD to my PC. The 3 choices I have come down to are WD10EADS, Seagate ST31000340AS and Samsung HD103UJ. I have searched for any sign of serial problems with each of these 3 and apart from the odd report of an isolated failure all seems well. Are there any known problems or pitfalls with any of these 3 models, or is there a glaring omission from my list, please? I would appreciate any feedback, thanks in advance. Rob. |

Re: 1 TB Hard Drive Choices
Either the Western Digital or the Seagate are excellent drives. I personally don't like the Samsung drives. In my rig, I use Seagate.

Re: 1 TB Hard Drive Choices
I will indeed (well afternoon here in fact)
I've just returned from our local Saturday morning Computer Market where I picked up a brand new WD1EADS for $132 Australian. Rob. |

Re: 1 TB Hard Drive Choices
It's interesting how the speed (RPM) of these 'Intellipower' drives is shown differently, depending on where you look. Some places the speed is shown as Intellipower, some places it is 5,400 RPM and others it is 7,200/5,400 RPM. I believe the 7,200/5,400 is correct.
