Re: Please help if you can
Give me the model number on the drive, alternatively you can look up support on their website. If you can't find anything useful there, contact customer support. I recently had a few problems with mine, had to download DataLifeguard or something like that and 0 off the drive... horrible. Could've been worse, might have had stuff on it :-)
Oh yeah, and if you do end up contacting customer support be sure to read through the entire email. The first will just be confirming it was sent and they'll get back to you, but the second actually has tips that help. Don't worry about the RMA unless you're asking to get it replaced/repaired by them. Anyway I hope this works out for you.

Re: Please help if you can
Riskyone101 the problem shouldn't be with his laptop, and if it is, it's probably the fact that he's probably not getting enough power--if it's a USB/Firewire only drive. More than likely he just needs the drivers.
Not trying to talk down, just trying to understand where you're coming from there.

Re: Please help if you can
Ok what I was saying here did you install the Intel chipset 8.0.0.1009
from here? http://us.acer.com/acer/service.do?L...CRC=2054404012 Dont forget to (choose your window installation) also before downloading. The chipset will cover the mass storage driver for the laptop. Note: Install chipset first and reboot pc inbetween each driver installation. Also you need to disable antivirus and antispyware programs while running the installer so as the driver may seat itself properly.

Re: Please help if you can
Replaced hard drive 2 times on this Dell and had to install the Drivers from the Dell CD ..Drivers for your Acer should be on a disk that came with computer or downloaded from Acer site.
Most times before any downloading you are able to view what the driver will do and instructions on how to install if needed |
