Maxtor HD 1TB
Hi can someone help me with my external hard drive problem.
I had it plug into a mates pc when i booted it up, i came back and found it was readign the files on the HD before windows had started so i stop the scanning or what ever it was doing. once windows was up i unpluged the HD and put it back up in my room, i just went and tried to use it now and found there was no files or folders on my HD, i looked in the tool options under folder option and found it selected do not show hiddens folders but i still dont have any folders showing up. My HD says there is disc spaces used so it must still be there or some of it is there but i cant acces it. if someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated thank you |

Re: Maxtor HD 1TB
Start with test-disk a in this sticky Have you "lost" a hard drive, partition or files in your computer? sounds like a partition table error. Assuming hte drive is spinning up and there are no strange noises from the drive. If this fails then the next step will be to remove the disk from the USB enclosure and mount it internally in a desktop to work on it.
