Hard disk light keeps flashing (round 2)

This is the original problem:

I have just bought a new pc and I noticed that the hard drive keeps flashing constantly with the relative hard disk sound....even when the pc is idle.

The hd is a Max/SGT 500 gb, and I am using Windows xp SP3
The pc is an Intel Core I7 with 4 gb of RAM

I even ran a hijack this session, but the log analyzer found nothing.
I also used Process Explorer, and terminated many unnecessary processes...nothing. The cpu usage keeps going between 1% & 0%.
AVG found and removed 4 trojans inside some old archives I had in my old pc, but it still flashes.

What should I do??

I have visited the malware forum and looks like I am clean.
Also, I have disabled the Internet connection, defragged the hd, terminated all unncessary startup processes from msconfig and disabled the file indexing process...still no results. It still flashes and make noises. The computer performance remains unaffected.

I have exhausted my "shots". Any ideas??

Ok, this might sound ridiculous but it is true.

The problem is solved at the moment..and I solved it by opening the dvd burner :D
As soon as the case opened it stopped flashing and making noises.

Might it be some sort of incompatibility??

I think you are just seeing background activity. If I remember your original thread, you had a lot of things running in the back ground. I don't think you have anything to be concerned about.
