missing files

hey ppl. i have a 320 gb WD passport hard drive. i have lots of memory in it full of movies and music. but lately when i connect my WD to the laptop, it shows that only 34 gb free of 298 gb which is true but when i open it to c the contents, nothing is seen except the word docs. all my folders called movies, music, pictures etc have all disappeared. but the used space shows that it is there but it just cannot b seen. does any1 know wat the prob is and how i can fix it?? plz help me out as soon as possible. thanks.

scan the drive with the trial version of getdataback and report what it finds
