new internal hard drive not recognized
I just bought a western digital 250 gb hard drive and a sata cable to connect it. i opened up my computer and installed it and closed it up. the hard drive is not recognized under the My Computer folder. how can i save things into there for storage?

The drive needs intitalized and formatted before you can use it. Internal drives are shipped unformatted so it can be used in any OS - Windows - Mac- Linux etc. Assuming you are running windows, right click on my computer select manage, in left pane disk management. You should get the disk initialization wizard - initialize the disk, create a partition using th default and format to NTFS - the disk will now be recognized in my computer
