How to format hardrive

Right, my mate screwed up my old computer (640RAM, windows 98, 30GB hd, 7gb hd) and now it seems like my 30g hardrive wont be picked up by any pc - it justs slows the computer down to hell but in My Computer it isnt there to access.

I now have a new PC (480RAM, 80GB, XP) and am wondering if....

..there is any chance at all i can restore my previous files?
..i can format this drive even though My Computer cant pick it up?

Cheers :)

Re: How to format hardrive

I'd Run diagnostics on the hard drive ( click here ) to rule out drive failure
