internal hard drive? how? possible?

hi!
i am running out of memory for my computer, have lots of movies and games, and only about 25 GB left out of 150.

I was going to purchase an external hard drive, but they are more expensive than internal hard drives, and they take up a usb port and all.

is it possible for my computer to install an internal hard drive with no hassle?

i have a dell dimension 5150. pent 4, 3 ghz

any other questions, ask.

thanks a lot,
dutyman

Re: internal hard drive? how? possible?

It actually depends upon what you already have in there and if there is space to connect a drive up. We need to know the brand name and model of the motherboard and how many drives of each kind (Sata and/or IDE) you are already using.

Re: internal hard drive? how? possible?

Specs on the 5150 show it as supporting up to 250 GB SATA Drives. Doesn't say what it has for available bays. you'll have to look inside for available mount points, sata ports on the board and available power connectors.

Re: internal hard drive? how? possible?

We can try, picks of the drive mounting bays, good clear pics of the Mobo and the any power supply cables that aren't connected to anything already...

Re: internal hard drive? how? possible?

i already bought
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136010.

i checked and i have another free space under the hard drive with a power cable connecting to the original one and extending, ready for a second one.

there is also a free port for another "blue" cable. i'm not exactly sure what it does, but as long as i come with one, i should be fine.

i'll post if i have any questions once it arrives

thanks
