Corrupt Hard Drive !
Hi,
I have a IBM Thinkcentre AIG with a 40gb Seagate FAT Hard drive and following a power cut on Tuesday night, I have been unable to boot the pc or access the hard drive. PC keeps stopping in post up and I removed the hard drive to piggy back it onto another pc to recover data. However after connecting it as a slave drive and accessing it in Windows via My Computer, when I click to open it, I get the message "The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable" As I have a lot of data on this drive, I downloaded "Recover my files from Get Data" and started a search of the drive. After searching for 3 hours it came back with several thousand files found, office files, jpeg etc but only about 1% can be seen in the preview, the rest showing as "preview not available - corrupt file" I do not want to pay to recover only 1% of my files ! Has anyone got a better idea to recover my data or is it lost for good ?
