Re: apparently i cant have 2 internals anymore lol
Are both hard-drives SATA interface or ATA? If you have older ATA hard-drives make sure that the jumper is set on both HDDs correctly. Try switching cables and try using a spare HDD cable.
Does the computer see both hard-drives in the bios? If you have SATA drives, have you tried plugging in the second hard-drive to another SATA port on the motherboard. Also you can try clearing the cmos and see if it helps solve you issues. Refer to the motherboard manual for the cmos jumper location. Try connecting the hard-drive to another working computer and see if that computer recognizes the HDD. Good luck and hope this helps you out. |

Re: apparently i cant have 2 internals anymore lol
ok so the HD that wasnt workin was the secondary, just so you know. i changed it to the master and it still doesnt load, with or without the other as a secondary. The master works on its own. I dont have another IDE cable to test w/ though. It all worked fine yesterday....i dont know what the problem is. In the bios when i have both connected it will say they are unknown devices, but when i only have the one that isnt messed up it shows up fine. Let me know if you can think of anything else.

Can you feel the drive spin up, or do you hear any clicking or tapping type noises from teh drive? What is the make and model of the drive that is not recognized
