lost hard drive

I upgraded to vista business fro xp pro. I have two hard drives it reads the first HDD but not the second. I should say the second HDD doesn't show in the MMC disk management console. I can run a little program called find and mount and the volumes show up in the program graphic but not in disk mng.
system information shows it also but I can't access it. My system is a32bit system is this part of my problem?

Does the drive show in BIOS? Did the ssecond drive ever show?
