[SOLVED] sata hdd not showing up.

Im running an xp pc with a pata 80gb hdd with the o/s on it. i have a seagate 250gb sata hdd that im trying to get to run with the the 80gb drive. the issue i run in to is that i can tell its showing up in my pc but after xp boots i can only see the 80gb drive and not the 250gb one.

p.s. im new to the most of this. so let me know if i need to give more info.

You need to go into disk management ( right click My Computer ->manage ->disk management ) then right click the drive and initialize, you will ned to create a partition and format it NTFS - make sure you are running XP SP2 or SP3 so you can recognize the full drive.

have you set it to be seen as ide in the bios
