Hard drive not named "C"

I have a new computer that was specially configured. It has a 5 in 1 internal card reader. Problem is when I start my computer it lists my hard drive as the "I", and the card reader as "C, D, E, F, G." How can I make the computer recognize my hard drive as the "C"?

Re: Hard drive not named "C"

and welcome to the Forum

That happens when XP ais installed an nother drive is present ( in your case, the card readers )

The only practical way to correct this is to reinstall with the card readers disconnected or disabled in BIOS.

Re: Hard drive not named "C"

enter the bios ......make sure the boot device priority is set to

first boot device = cd-rom

second boot device = hard drive

make sure USB devices are not in the list ahead of hard drives .........
