Hardrive Problems. Need Help Please

So, yesterday was like any other day, played video games talk on msn get ready for work and then leave. when i got home and turned my computer on, my hardrive wasnt reading. So first thing i thought "maybe the sata connection fell out/cord not working/too much dust in the case (it was very dusty) so after i connecting the hardrive into a different sata connector and my dvd in the one that the hardrive was in and still nothing form the hardrive and the dvd player was fine so i went into bios. I tried to manually make the computer read the hardrive so i went into my cmos properties and saw (Sata A0, Sata A1, Sata B0, Sata B1) and i knew it was connected to Sata B0 so i went and click Auto-Detect and it paused for about a minute then came up with nothing. When i tried Auto-Detect on SataB1 which i knew didnt have anything, it paused for only a second and said nothing. So i know the computer knows its there but its not reading it. Please help me i have everything on there its a 1TB Hard Drive and i need it for school and everything else.

Thank you.
-Quinn

ps sorry about the novel ^ ^ ^ :P

Not a novel :), what is the make and model of the hard drive? Is it making any noise - clicking grinding high pitched squeal? Can you feel the vibration of the platter spinning up?

Re: Hardrive Problems. Need Help Please

If this is a 7200.11 series drives check the seagate site to see if this is one of the models that they recently issued the patch for.
