WD 250gb shows in Vista, but doesnt show files and is slow
As the topic says. I have a 250gb drive from WD (Cavier SE) that shows in the my computer of vista and on an XP machine i tried it in, yet wont show any of the files on the drive. The drive is almost full (bar around 4gb), hence I moved it a few weeks ago from an XP PC to a Vista PC. The files worked fine from the moment I moved the drive, yet arent showing now on a random boot up.
I have tried the drive in the old XP machine where it came from and it does the same thing. It shows as a drive but doesnt show the size or the name of it in windows my computer. I have followed a few of the suggestions here in the forum regards fixing the Boot sector but it seems fine. Its NTFS format on the drive. Any help would truly be appreciated. |

Re: WD 250gb shows in Vista, but doesnt show files and is slow
I forgot to add, it takes an age booting up vista and even sometimes hangs on the entry screens. In both XP and Vista it takes a long time whenever you open My Computer but eventually settles down, although it simply wont allow me to explore the drive even though it shows it and asigns it a drive letter.
