How to add old HD to new system

I built a new computer yesterday and was wondering if there is any way to also use my old HD too.

My new system has vista 64 bit and the old HD has windows xp. What I really want to do is save the stuff on the old one, I don't want to wipe it unless I can get the stuff off of it. I have tons of pictures and movies etc. on it that I either want to transfer over to the new HD or just leave it on there but have the ability to access it. Not sure if that is possible. My new HD is a sata2, the old one is a sata1.

Thanks :)

Plug it into a second slot, boot into Vista, copy and paste all files. Format if desired?

Re: How to add old HD to new system

So I put it in and how do I get to it? Like where will my files be? Will everything just show up on my desktop like it was before? (I bet that sounds dumb but I am not quite sure how this works haha)!

Re: How to add old HD to new system

If it goes like it should, there should be another drive under My Computer.

If not, I'll explain more later.
