SATA-150 or SATA-300?
I have a Dell Dimension 5150. It has a defective Serial-ATA Hard Drive and I am going to replace it, but I am not sure which SATA drive to purchase. Can anyone tell me whether it matters or not if the drive is a "SATA-150" or "SATA-300"? I am unsure which of these applies to the existing Hard Drive.
Thanks in advance for your assistance, Dadof2 |

Re: SATA-150 or SATA-300?
It does not make any difference, because if your motherboard only supports the 1.5Mb/sec transfer rate, most have a jumper you can just move to make a 3.0Mb/sec transfer rate hard drive work just fine with your board. Some don't have a jumper, but will work fine. You might as well pick up the newer one and get the 3.0Mb/sec transfer rate drive.
