Installing an XP Hard Drive into a Vista Computer
Hi there, new to the forums and I have a question.
I recently bought a Dell XPS 630i running Vista Ultimate SP1. I am attempting to add my old IDE hard drive running XP (150gb Western Digital) to the new computer in order to transfer files. I am using an IDE to SATA converter to connect the hard drive to the MB. Unfortunately the new computer doesn't seem to recognize the old hard drive. I have gone into the BIOS to enable the ports but nothing is happening. Any chance someone could help me? Thanks! |

Re: Installing an XP Hard Drive into a Vista Computer
and welcome to the ForumTry attaching the old drive in place of one of the CD/DVD drives . . that should cause fewer issues Put it on the end connector and set the jumpers to Master
