How do I hook up my Laptop HDD to a computer? What connection does it have?
I've been looking at enclosures to put my laptop HDD in but Im thinking that it won't work... because its smaller... I want to get all my documents off of it... It was a Dell Inspiron 1100 I think... What is the connection? What cable can I buy to hook it up?

Re: How do I hook up my Laptop HDD to a computer? What connection does it have?
Depends if it was a sata or IDE drive. If sata and you have sata ports on the desktop it should just connect to one of the sata ports. If it is IDE on the mother board then there are adapters for both 2.5 inch IDE connectors and for sata that will plug onto the IDE cable of the PC and adapt to the 2.5 inch drive. First step is to identify the interface used on the 2.5 inch drive.
