what happened to my harddrive?

i have a simpletech 500g external hard-drive.

when i plug it into my computer, my computer doesn't recognize it. in the past when it worked the blue lights at the top would flash.

now the blue lights only appear for one blip. then the harddrive beeps at me. first 3 beeps, and then another three beeps at a lower pitch. three beeps at the first pitch, and than two beeps at the second lower pitch.

....anyone have any clues?

Check the manual that came with the drive, or the help section on the manufacturers site. It sounds like the device is trying to say something (no pun intended) like a hardware failure internally.
