External hard drive wont install proper drivers!!!
I have recently bought a new hard drive for my HP TX 1100 (500GB). The existing 160GB drive was fine, I was just running out of space. I decided to use it as an external hard drive and bought a coolmax HB-250T 2.5" enclosure for it. When I plug in the drive, it gives me an error saying the drivers were installed but for an unrecognized device.
According to coolmaxusa.com, they say that HP, Dell, and others have security features to prevent you from using the original hd as an external. Has anybody run into this problem and figured out how to get around it? Thanks. |
