Error message for primary hard drive
Hi, I'm new to this scene and I'm hoping someone can help me...
My grandma is having problems with her computer and I don't know very much about them myself. She is getting an error message "Error auto-sensing primary hard disk drive0". Now, just a few months ago she replaced the hard drive after receiving a similar error message contacting Dell tech support over the phone. She has a Dell that runs XP that she got not even a year ago. I can get more info if it helps but it may take some time since I don't have her computer here with me. Any suggestions?? AO |

Re: Error message for primary hard drive
Hey Annie,
"Error auto-sensing primary hard disk drive0" is displayed when your primary hard disk cannot be read or found. If this has happened before then it may be indicating a problem with the current connecter cables, the cable from the motherboard to the hard-drive or the power cable. If you are going inside the computer, be very careful. Unplug it from the mains before you do anything! Check the connections at both ends of the hard-drive and the motherboard. If the hard drive lights up you know it’s not the power connector Make sure the cables are in correctly. And then boot your computer up. To see if the error message still appears. Let me know how it goes. |
