[SOLVED] Hard drive wants to be reformatted

Hi
I have a similar problem to the stickies posted with one exception.
After following the directions given

I get the following screen
It basically says the
Can't read backup boot sector

Can anyone tell me what i can do?

I should of mentioned this is an external hard drives with very valuable files on it.

From the windows screen shot you attached the format type is shown as RAW. If the data on this drive is valuable as you state, stop messing with it and pack it off to a data recovery lab.

Have you tried the Disk Manufacturer's website and downloaded and run this utility against the drive to see if it is healthy? If not try that:

I turned it off and turned it back on again and it seems to fixed itself.

A huge sigh of relief.
