500 Gb external WD

I recently bought a new SATA hdd and since my motherboard does not support SATA I bought an RPC partable 3.5". I formated the hdd, waited 6 hours 4 it, with a program that was on a cd that came with the RPC, but it still won't show in My Computer, only in the disk management, where I pressed " initiate the drive" and now it reads Disk 1 basic 465.76 GB Online "unallocated".

I'm out of ideas

, just please don't say that it won't recognise it because my desktop doesn't have SATA cables

I think I found the solution I've found a way to partition the disk through disk management and I'm formating it now hope, I'll find out in about 2 hours
