No hard space left after Heidi

Hello before I deleted a lot of film and music files, my hard disk was about 75% full. After I deleted them, I decided to run Heidi eraser. I left this running during the night and now I've woken up to the message that my hard disk is full!

What has happened, and how do I free up space on my hard drive now?

It seems to have corrected itself at the end of the scan. Not sure what happened though.

Now I cannot open MS Word in the right font because of 'insufficient disk space' despite having 60 gig free. What has Heidi done?
