Problem only see SATA and not IDE

Hallo guys. Please help.

I have just finished building a computer with XP professional. I have one Sata hdd with the OS on and a IDE. The computer does see the IDE in Bios but not in Management? The IDE is on the middle - nothing on the end. What can be the problem? When I installed windows it did show both drives - I only partitioned the SATA and loaded the os. If I go now to reinstall windows it only shows SATA. How do I fix this?

Re: Problem only see SATA and not IDE

First of all, if the IDE hard drive is alone on the ribbon cable, it needs to have the jumpers set to master and be on the end of the ribbon cable. If it is not formatted and you want to use it for storage, then you need to do that for it to work. What is the brand name of the drive?
