I would not say so much better. You can get faster speeds outta the
sata drives. But its not earth shattering, and most common users of
pc's wont even notice. Im sure some people will say OMG! that sata
drive is so much faster than my old ide drive, but its mainly in there
head. When you start using raid arrays ie striping, with fast sata drives
you will see a performance hit, thats in raid though. Others may differ,
this is just my opinion.

the best thing I like about sata drives is the thin data cable ........ which improves airflow inside the computer case in a major way ........ other than that ....... for the most part I agree with Manic views above

If my motherboard says that it supports Sata, then it does support any drive that uses sata, right
