Hi my problem is that I have just installed a replacement Seagate Barracuda 400 Gb 2nd storage hrd drive. My pc will not recognize it. The slot I installed had an 80 GB Sata drive in it that worked fine. If I remove the 400 Gb drive & reinstall the 80 GB drive it works fine. My C drive is a Raid 0 configuration useing 2 Seagate barracuda 250 GB drives if that makes any difference. When I look in disc manager the drive does not show up. When I look in the bios the drive does not show up but according to Asus & seagate this normal for my setup. This is the second 400 Gb drive I have tried. I taught the first was defective so it was replaced under warranty. This drive plugs directly into the mother board. I have tried swapping with different slots & cables to no avail. It it possiable that I have gotten another bad drive? I tried useing Seagates Disc wizard but for some reason it tells me I do not have any seagate drives installed on my pc so I can not use it to help recognize the drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: seagate sata hrd dr not recognized
look at the BIOS for IDE/SATA configuration. If you have IDE slots it may replace the SATA as primary and then IDE as secorday. Set it to SATA only if there is the option.
