Raid 5 on XP Pro
I am running XP pro on a file server, 20 GB HDD for the OS, four 750GB Seagates in Raid 5 array for total of 2.04TB according to the Bios and OS.
Only one problem, XP won't acknowledge it's existance. No drive letter, no disk info in the Computer Management console... It's an nVidia chipset integrated raid controller, Bios level will let us add all four drives to the raid, but when I try recreating it from the OS with the nVidia tools, I can only add 3 of the drives. I figure the OS just can't recognize more then 2TB at once, but it should still see the raid array under Computer Management, letting us create partitions and the like. I've tried looking up MS FAQs to solve this but they have crap for info on their software. Please help... Links |
