Sata hd only boots with safe mode
I have a Emachine T6536 and today i added a wd5000ys sata to it. my prob is that when i boot it stays in the windows loading screen. when i power cycle i can load into safe mode with no problem and the hd is detected and works fine. which is how i'm online now. if i unplug the hd and boot into windows normally it works fine. i have tried switching between the two sata plugs and i've tried with and without the jumper on the drive. also i have downloaded and installed the sata drivers from the emachine website with no luck. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Re: Sata hd only boots with safe mode
Check to make sure in the bios setup menu that in the BOOT area, down under the Hard Drive Priority area, that you have the SATA listed first.

Re: Sata hd only boots with safe mode
Possible issue. If your new drive is Sata II and your motherboard supports only Sata I, you might have to set the jumper on the Sata Drive to be recognized as a Sata I component. How old is your machine?
