Re: Turn off Hard drive

Slug, you need to clarify what you want to do. If you simply unplug the ribbon cable from it or or take the power lead out, then it simply won't work. You plug it back in and away it goes. Is that what you want to know?

Re: Turn off Hard drive

Don't know the motherboard, but that sounds like hibernation to me.

Re: Turn off Hard drive

It's a standby mode. Drive stops spinning but is still alive. If host sends any command to it it would go up again.
