OS: xp sp2


No boot device detected

When installing windows xp sp2 on new hdu : "No boot disk detected, insert system disk and press F1 to continue or F2 to set up menu".
Cntl alt del then "F2- setup or F12 boot menu". I choose bootable hdu in boot device menu and windows boots up but not automatically when switch power on or when reseting.
PC has history of missing op system then reformat.
PC: Dell DimensionC521.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+
CPU Clock Speed: 2.2 GHZ
64 Bit Technology.
Bios: 1.1.4 (12/09/06)
Mem: 512MB 533MHZ DDR2
HDU: Seagate ST3250410AS- SATA-0

Enter the Bios setup menu and go to the "boot" area. While there, you need to look at two things:

First, make sure your boot order is set to:
CDRom - 1st
Floppy - 2nd
Hard Drive - 3rd
Second, scroll on down to the Hard Drive Priority (might be worded differently) and make sure your Boot Drive is listed FIRST in this area.

Don't forget to save before you exit.
