Hard drive docking station
I was wondering what people would recommend for a Hdd cradle? Also, I have about 4 IDE hard drives and one SATA hard drive. I think the SATA cradle would be the best choice because I think most HDD are coming in SATA now a days. However, is there a cradle that can handle both IDE and SATA? If not should i just invest in a REALLY cheap IDE enclosure as well? recommendations?

Re: Hard drive docking station
Hi, are you looking for something like this?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817193047 If so there are a few more of them around. You would just hve to pick out which works for your needs the best. And yes SATA is starting to gain the majority of control. |

Re: Hard drive docking station
no i was thinking of something along the lines of this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153066
Im just not sure which one and if theres one that can take both IDE or SATA. If not then i guess investing in a cheap external case for my IDEs wont hurt. |

Re: Hard drive docking station
It seems IDE and SATA together are hard to find but there is a few out there, although they don't look as good as the one you posted. I also never seen these sites (did a google search to get to them) but that shouldn't be too bad.
http://www.usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=0383 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/re.../dp/B000QV5ZQC pretty much the same thing and not as easy as a dock bt along the same lines |

Re: Hard drive docking station
Yea I know what you mean. You may want to see if you can find any reviews of them first before buying. It may save you time and just get an enclouser (instead of wasting the money now) or they may work well but just not look good. I think the docks are too new really and ide is just getting too old, sorry i couldn't find anything better.
