Trash from one Toshiba to another

Yesterday I found a Toshiba satellite A210 with its screen smashed in the garbage. Everything else looked fine.

I own a Toshiba Satellite A300. My question is-

Would I be able to exchange hard drives briefly to see what was on the
A210? Then switch them back. (powering off between swap of course)
Or is it much more complicated then this?

Thanks

Re: from one Toshiba to another

It's more complicated than switching the drives . . unless the devices are identical, it will only boot to a blue screen.

You could put the drive from the A210 in an enclosure to view it.
