Installing an OS on a new hardrive in a laptop
hey i know this sounds incredibly stupid but when i got a lappy (wich is second hand by the way) i decided i wanted to reformat and i put a new hardrive in and when i tried to boot from the winXp sp2 disk it booted ok but when it came to selecting the partition i wanted to format it said that the hardrive was disconected and there was either no power suply to the hardrive or the software or no software was instaled to run it can some one please tell me wat is wroung cuz i got no idea and when i try to boot from HD it sais no operating system found can some one tell me also if this is a hardware configuration problem or if its a software config problem.
