Software to restore table of contents of NTFS partition
In my PC having window XP, Table of contents of 1 out of 4 NTFS partitions of 2nd HDD has been lost.
When I go to Disk Management, 3 working partitions show NTFS against their name, but lost partition does not show NTFS name. When I go to properties of lost partition, it shows used space 0, free space 0. What should I do to rebuild table of contents to retrieve the data. There are many softwares for recovery of NTFS partition which one is free and most appropriate for my case. |

I'd give testdisk a try. There's a thread on how to use it here
