RAID to NON-RAID
The other day I was looking at all my Programs and noticed one called "Intel Matrix Storage Manager." So I clicked it on. In their was two choices Raid 0 and Raid 1, so I pick Raid 0. I looked up the defination for Raid 0 and it said that both of my drives would be combined as one making the performance of my computer better. So, I thought what do I have to loose. I clicked it. Well, it started copying the hard drive to the other hard drive. This went on for about an hour. When it got to the end of copying an error message came up and said that the second drive had failed and that I need to back up my files. I did this. What a mess. So now I want to go back to where it was but don't know how to do it, can someone help.
I noticed that when the computer boots up from being turned off that a screen comes up for about 30 seconds called Intel Matrix Storage Option Rom. On this screen you have options: 1. Create Raid Volume (something like that) 2. Delete Raid Volume 3. Set Disks to Non-Raid. I was going to try to highlight the #3 choice but I thought it would be best to talk to you first. I tried to find a explanation on what to do but haven't been able to find one. |

Re: RAID to NON-RAID
I think I found the answer to my own question. If I try #3 and set disks to Non-Raid their is a chance I will erase both hard drives. So, I am going to leave well enough alone and just stay in Raid 0 unless someone finds me a way out.
