WinXp compresses 240GB HDD to 103GB, how do I uncompress it ?
My computer is HP compaq with Intel board which was previously installed with WinXp Professional having SP2. (NTFS format). After my machine crashed, I tried to reinstall with WinXp Professional version (Original copy) which does not have SP2. But before formating the Disk, the partition show only 130GB instead of 240GB. Even after I re-install Windows it shows only 130 GB.How do I uncompress it or bring back the HDD to 240GB (NTFS).

Give this a try.
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management. Go under the Storage tab, and click Disk Management. If you see the unallocated space for your hard drive, create a new partition there. You should recover all your disk space back. Hope this helps. -Johnny |
