External HD disappears when transfering files
Hi, I'm having some problems transferring a large number of files from one external HD to another. For some reason, the source drive seems to disappear part way through a transfer. I get an error message saying that Windows cannot locate the file I was trying to copy. The My Computer screen seems to freeze and cannot recognize that drive. Only when I turn the power off and on for the drive does my computer see it again.
Transferring 1 or 2 files seems to work fine, but it will really take a long time. I've used this hard drive for about half a year now and have never had any problems with it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Dave |
