WD Essential 750Gb

Hi guys,

I've bought this wd 750gb external drive a couple months ago and it has been working fine til yesterday: during the whole day it just kept getting slower to access and when I rebooted it simply stoped being detected, both in WinXp and during boot time in the BIOS.

I've tried changing the usb cable and testing the drive in other PCs but to no avail.

Also, when I plug the HD in WinXp it detects it as an unknown device and installs it as such.

Is there anything I can do to get it to work again?

Go to WD site and d/l their diag software and test the drive with it. Last resort, remove it from the external and slave it to the internal drive.
