Hard drive is decreasing in space at an alarming rate
So I was wondering if someone here could help me with a major problem I've been having. I own a Lenovo T61 cornerstone laptop with an intel core 2 duo and windows vista business. The computer came with about 70 GB of free hard drive space. I have downloaded some programs off the internet, but totaled, they could not have taken up more than about 20 GB. I also have quite a few music/image files, but they shouldn't be taking up more than 8 GB. That means I should have at least 42 GB space left on my hard drive. Yet, today I have about 2.8 GB. I've been monitoring my hard drive every day, and every day the hard drive space goes down by one GB. I've done everything I can think of to remedy the situation. Unfortunately, my knowledge of computers is such that the best I can do is do disk cleanup every day and defrag is once a week. I also have a fully functional virus protector, so I don't think that's it. Please, if anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it. At this rate, I won't be able to even use the computer after tomorrow.

Re: Hard drive is decreasing in space at an alarming rate
Have you tried unloading some of those files to CD or DVD? It's pretty simple to burn some (just make sure after you burn that you can copy everything back).
Hard disk storage is finite, but you can buy an unlimited number of CD's or DVD's. |
