Hard drive powers down randomly

Hi all This is my computer

Asus p5nsli
intel duo 6700
450 Watt P/S
2X hynix 512mb, and 1 1gig noname
WD 300gig Sata HD
Toshiba TS-h553a Sata Dvd RW
Aopen Dvd IDE RW
PNY nvidia 512mg 7600GS X2
4X case fans.
Windows XP SP3

Here's the problem, Randomly the hardrive will just power down by itself (sounds the same as if you shutdown the whole computer) then of course the screen will go blank, then after a quick few seconds the computer will restart, and windows will want to send a report.

I have tried unplugging the dvd drives, one of the video cards, and all the extra case fans. OH and i should mention this is has been an ongoing problem for along time, i have replaced the original 450W P/S (and yes the hardrive did shutdown on that p/s to)

I am wondering if its a power supply problem, or a sata problem, or even a video problem. I say video becuase when i run both the video cards in sli, randomly the screen will go fuzzed and blurred and then i have to restart. I would also like to know if that video problem is somehow connected to the harddrive issue.

If anymore info is needed just lemme know, and thanks in advance.

Re: Hard drive powers down randomly

What brand and wattage power supply. Unless that power supply is
some sort of special order power house, I would not attempt to run
that system with that power supply, especially in a sli environment.
