[SOLVED] how do i add a new internal disc drive

hi ive just retrieved an old disc drive from a machine i know it works, and it still has all its old files and os(win98) which i do not need as im using xp on my machine.i just wish to add this drive to my computer to use simply as storage for my music files, as my machine is only 38gb and the new drive would give me an extre 20.5gb. can someone please give me a step by step guide on how i can add this extra drive i would appricate any help thanks.

chances are it is ide. you will need to find the user manuals for the two drives. set one up as master the other as slave and connect the new drive to the other connector on the cable.

thanks your correct it is ide but i dont have any paper work for either drives just the asus motherboard user guide i printed out where and how do i get the info for the drives from please.
