New Hard Drive Is Slow
Well I just installed a new hard drive and cloned everything from my old drive onto it. I was expecting my computer to be faster but all I ended up with was more storage space. It is just as slow as my old hard drive which is from 2002. The new drive I installed was a Western Digital Caviar SE 320 Gigs. Shouldn't it be faster with load times and everything?

Re: New Hard Drive Is Slow
The reason for perceived slowness will probably be malware. You may want to scan the drive at http://housecall.antivirus.com (there is a free online scanner there).
Your drive may still be in PIO mode. http://users.bigpond.net.au/ninjaduc...duck/udma_fix/ - check here for details. |
