Need help formatting Lacie D2.

Hey guys, I need help real bad. I just bought a Lacie D2 external hard drive from a friend who barely used it. It was originally formatted to be used with a mac, but I'm going to be using it on my HP laptop running XP. I'm trying to reformat from CTFS to NTFS. I went under disk management and right clicked on the icon for the hard drive, and under the tabs there is one that says format, but it is not highlighted and wont let me click on it. Any idea on how I can format this hard drive so I can use it with my computer? PLEASE HELP!!!

thanks,

-Dave

Delete the existing partition. Create an NTFS partition. Format the NTFS partition.

Disk management won't let you make a mess of C: drive :)

What's not working properly on your laptop?
