Hard Drive can't be found after switching cases

I changed cases recently (Along with put in a new DvD Disk Drive and a new Video card if it matters) but when I checked my computer, it can't find my Hard Drive, and it did before switching (In neither Device Manager or My Computer) All the cords are plugged in the same place they were before.

It's a 500gb ATA.

Re: Hard Drive can't be found after switching cases

Welcome to TSF....

When booting up you get a post screen that will show the hard drive if the system sees it?

Also try tapping the F8 key to take you into BIOS and see if it is in there.

What is the make and model of hard drive?

Re: Hard Drive can't be found after switching cases

When booting up, It goes away too fast to read it. I'll check bios in a few minutes though, along with opening up my computer to go check the model and make.

Re: Hard Drive can't be found after switching cases

It is not in Bios

Model is I think WD5000AAKS-22YGA0, It's a Sata.

Edit: It's also my second hard drive, if that changes things.

Spec Page

http://www.wdc.com/en/products/produ...01&language=en

Here is the page that will give you instruction manuals and jumpers settings for the WD hard drive

http://support.wdc.com/product/insta...id=606&lang=en

I would check out the manuals and see if you drive is setup properly.....

Re: Hard Drive can't be found after switching cases

Your pic shows the SATA power and data connectors, nothing wrong there. Try other cables as vladimirb said. Check that the SATA power cable is hooked properly to the power supply. Can you hear or feel the drive spin when you turn the power on ? Also try another SATA port on the motherboard.

What's the brand and model of the motherboad ? (or the brand and model of the whole computer if it's a brand model).

The cable pictured here is a SECURE cable that was put out for early sata drive to stop the cables falling off as they did not have the metal clip on the cable that the later ones have.
