Could I put my HD in another computer, install Linux, and put it back in the...
..Original computer? It has Win XP on it now.
I can't run the live CD to install it on here. For some reason it goes impossibly slow. I can't do anything on it, it just freezes up. I think it could be a ram issue. Before I added ram, it would take days to just load up. It would save me a head ache if I could just put the hard drive in a different machine. |

Well, I believe it has problems, but that's not the reason. The computer uses 2 hard drives. (60 gb and 4 GB) I unplugged the *failing* 60 GB HD and it did the same for the live CD.
It does the same for windows, but the 4 GB HD runs windows just fine |

That's too complicated for me. I can't burn ISO files.. They never work. (even though I have read/ watched guides, and followed them exactly)

Wait, the 60 GB one doesn't have an os on it. I don't think. And if it does, linux will be replacing it. Will my os of the other computer be affected if I put that hard drive into it?
