Dell shuts down when idle
i have a Dell Optiplex GX280, and any time i walk away for a few minutes it completely shuts down, i know its not hibernate or standby because i have turned both of those options off, could anybody give me a clue on fixing this problem?

Hi, adjust the Power Options in Control Panel. For example, choose the Home Office/ Desk power scheme from the drop-down list, click on Apply and OK and restart.
If you've already done that, open Administrative Tools in Control Panel and navigate to Computer Management> System Tools> Event Viewer> System In the right-pane, double-click on the event that occured at the same time as your pc last shut itself down. It will give you details of why or what application caused the shut-down.

i am recieving 1 error message over and over. something about the computer is attempting to be master of network and server wont allow it. (did i forget to mention that its on a small business network and im the local it contact with very little knowledge on servers(i would call my help desk but they always just put me on hold or tell me to figure it out myself)) and the machine is still shutting down

Our server is 2003 and our workstations all run XP Pro. Now that i have gone back and looked there are actually to codes, Event ID 5719- No Domain Controller available for (domain) RPC server unavailable. and Event ID 8009 Browser was unable to promote itself to master, The computer that believes it is master is (server)
